Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

Account means a unique account created for you to access our service or parts of our service.

It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the company to facilitate the service, to provide the service on behalf of the company, to perform services related to the service or to assist the company in analyzing how the service is used.

You means the individual accessing or using the service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the service, as applicable.

While using our service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

Usage data is collected automatically when using the service.
Usage data may include information such as your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When you access the service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

## How Reading Partner uses AI services
Reading Partner uses third-party AI services only when you create a new project. We ask for your permission before sending the data described below. You can withdraw that permission at any time under Integrity. Withdrawing permission prevents new projects from being created but does not affect existing projects.
## OpenAI
We send OpenAI the script text you type, paste, or extract from a document, together with basic processing information such as the script language, document extraction source and layout hints. OpenAI processes this data to identify characters, dialogue, scene directions and the structure needed to create your Reading Partner project. We do not send your account password, payment information, contacts, microphone recordings, rehearsals or self-tape videos to OpenAI for this purpose.
We send Google Cloud AI services the dialogue lines that need spoken audio, nearby dialogue used to improve delivery, the selected language and voice, and performance instructions such as tone or pacing. Google processes this data to generate the reading-partner voice audio. We do not send your account password, payment information, contacts, microphone recordings, rehearsals or self-tape videos to Google for this purpose.
## How the data is collected and used
The script and project choices are collected directly from what you enter, upload or select in the app. They are transmitted securely through Reading Partner’s service to the relevant provider only to parse your script and generate project audio. Reading Partner does not authorize either provider to use this data for advertising or unrelated profiling.
## Protection and retention
Reading Partner requires OpenAI and Google to protect transferred data under contractual, technical and organizational safeguards that provide the same or an equivalent level of protection required by applicable privacy law. Provider processing and limited retention may occur in countries outside your own. Reading Partner retains project data according to the remainder of this Privacy Policy; generated rehearsal recordings and self-tapes remain on your device.
## Your choice
Permission is voluntary, but AI processing is necessary to create a project. You can still open and use projects that already exist after withdrawing permission. Granting permission again enables new project creation. Contact Reading Partner through Contact and support if you have questions or want to exercise your privacy rights.
