Today you can use English in three accents (American, British, Aussie) and Swedish. We’re already planning for Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Danish, Norwegian and Finnish and we hope to have it available for you in the app before the end of 2026. Next step after that is building support for non-Latin characters (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Ukrainian, Greek, Indian etc). The monthly subscription price doesn’t increase when we add more languages.

Of course, there is a “stay updated” form field in the footer.

The AI and text-to-speech tools used to generate the Swedish counter-reader are much less developed due to far less previous use. Hence, the Swedish version experiences the occasional hallucination (e.g. inventing its own words, shifting dialect mid-script etc). There’s not much we can do about it but we’re constantly improving and always on the lookout for updated models we can use without increasing the price you pay.

Every actor can benefit for it, from the established professional rehearsing for ten minute monologues to aspiring new talents submitting self-tapes to casting calls.

The tools we use have learned from previous usage and English being a huge language, has amassed an immense amount of learnings whereas Swedish, being a miniscule fringe language, hasn’t. It’s that simple. The same goes, obviously for Australian English, for the same reasons. So yes, the Swedish counter-reader might have its odd hallucinations now and then but it’s really not that often and last we checked, no other acting tool is offering a better Swedish alternative - probably for the above stated reason.

Get another app and learn that 1) they’re more expensive with 2) far more opaque pricing related to “AI tokens” (good luck deciphering how that works) and that 3) it’s probably not any better in the end. We’ll be sad to see you go but want what’s best for you.

Cancelling the Reading Partner subscription is easy, just cancel it in your Apple subscription settings. But remember that the subscription and the account are separate, you have to cancel the subscription (ending payments) with Apple and then cancel the account in the Reading Partner app if you want your account removed.

Not really. We are very cheap compared to other similar products but in keeping the price down, our margins are pretty slim. VAT is normally 25%, Apple Store’s fee 15% and the AI and TTS tools around 30-50%. You do the math, we’re not getting filthy rich on your dime, promise ;)

1. First of all, it’s great for rehearsing. In rehearsal mode you can use the counter-reader to read against it as if you have a 24/7 reading partner. Which, in a way, you do.

2. And when you’re done, just click the little download icon in the bottom right to download the audio file. You can use it to listen to your rehearsal, analyze your performance and learn the lines, as you run or do dishes or whatever.

3. Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, use the self-tape mode to film yourself reading against the counter-reader, making sure you have a reading partner ready to help you with those crucial self-tape submissions whenever you need.

We’ve capped the page limit at 15 pages. The idea is for you to rehearse and self-tape scenes, not entire episodes of film scripts. Just upload the scripts scene by scene, as you need them, and you’ll be fine.

We generate audio files instead of just ticking costly AI minutes. It takes a little longer but it keeps price down for you plus offers better dialogue flow and pace.

First, we want to emphasize the fact that we only use from the allowance when generating counter-reader lines. After a generated counter-reader lines you can rehearse endlessly and limitlessly. But we get it, why is there an allowance at all? The AI tool we use charges by the minute and without a limit the price we charge our users would have to be much higher. But rest assured that the circa 75 pages of dialogue in your monthly allowance is more than enough for most. Also, unused allowance will be transferred to the following month up to 167 pages so the most likely scenario is that you’ll amass more allowance than you spend month by month. Our entire idea is to find smart ways of keeping the cost down and the value high and one way we achieve this is to offer you more than enough allowance for most. 75 pages of dialogue equals about a full feature film script. Per month.

We only store your submitted scripts and settings, nothing else. All recorded sound and video is saved locally on your phone.
